Planning your wedding photographs at Merrydale Manor
Photographs around the manor and gardens
The front of the manor gives portraits a classic country-house backdrop, while the gardens offer a softer, more relaxed setting. We can choose a nearby spot for family photographs and keep everyone close to the drinks reception. The aim is to make the most of the grounds without turning your reception into a long photo session.
Making the most of the ceremony light
The glass-fronted ceremony space is an important part of the Merrydale story. Natural light, your guests’ reactions and the moments immediately after the ceremony all deserve time in the gallery. We’ll work around the ceremony arrangements and plan the confetti and family photographs with your timings in mind.
Evening portraits in the Cheshire countryside
If the weather and light allow, a short walk in the gardens later in the day can give your photographs a different feel from the afternoon. Sunset timing changes with the season, so we’ll consider it alongside speeches and your evening plans rather than promise a particular golden-hour photograph.
How much time should we allow for photographs?
Couple portraits usually take around 10–15 minutes while your guests are being called to dine. Family groups need their own time in the schedule, depending on your list. We’ll discuss both before the wedding, leaving room for the moments that happen naturally.
Can we book Tom or a team photographer?
Yes, subject to availability. Choose Tom or one of our team photographers, with every final photograph personally edited by Tom. Meet Tom and the team and explore our wedding photography to get a feel for the approach.
Photography and videography for your wedding
If you would like a film alongside your photographs, explore our wedding videography and combined photography and film packages. Share your date and venue so we can confirm availability and the coverage that fits your plans.
